For the first time in 24 years, the FIM Motocross World Championship (MXGP) is tearing back into Australia—and not just for any round. The final event of the global season lands in Darwin this September, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. Titles are on the line. Bikes are getting airborne. And the Top End is putting on a show that’s as wild as the Territory itself.
About ten minutes from Darwin proper is Hidden Valley Raceway, a purpose-built, 1.6km dirt beast with 22 corners, 21 jumps, a 90-metre start straight, and the world’s best riders ready to tackle it. This is motocross with zero chill and full-send energy.
